Mujibur Rahman submits the first FR petition against Hapuhinna’s notification instructing District secretaries not to receive candidate election deposits.

Mujibur Rahman, the Colombo mayor candidate, filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the circular issued by the secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration prohibiting district secretaries from accepting election deposit money.

He claims that the circular infringed on his and other candidates’ fundamental human rights.
This is the first petition filed against Mr. Neil Hapuhinna, Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration.
