The Gampaha District Forest Officer has also been ordered to identify the place and take steps to recover the tree.
The Gampaha District Forest Office had previously reported the facts to the court through a “B” report that the tree had been cut down.
The district forest officer informed the court that if the tree is to be recovered, the district forest office does not have the necessary resources.
The Additional Magistrate has ordered the District Officer to implement the orders immediately without any indifference.
Minister Bandula Gunawardena presented and passed a proposal to cut this branch to the cabinet, and the tree was cut within a few hours after the proposal was passed.
