The Chief Medical Officer of the Outpatient Department of Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, Mr. Hema Weerakoon, requests the people to avoid gathering in groups as much as possible and to wear face masks in places where they are in groups, as the fever that is spreading rapidly throughout the country, including the North Central Province, is a viral condition. Latest News

She further commented on this and said as follows.

“Because this virus originates in the respiratory tract, the main symptoms are cough, cold, fever and body pain. Although this viral condition subsides in two or three days, some patients have cough, colds and other respiratory diseases for a month or two.

This virus is a strain of influenza. Staying away from infected people as much as possible and wearing masks in groups and gathering places will help prevent this disease.

This fever is spreading rapidly not only in Anuradhapura but all over the country. Inform people to get treatment even if it is a virus. If left untreated, severe respiratory problems may occur. Due to lack of treatment and carelessness, the spread of this disease is increasing in the society.”
