He is accused of causing a loss of over one million rupees to the government by using a jeep given by the Dutch government for his personal use.
Although this case was called before the Colombo High Court Judge Mr. Navaratne Marasinghe today, Mr. Fauci did not appear before the court.
The lawyer who represented him stated that he would not come to court today as he is suffering from a skin disease and the lawyer also submitted a medical report to the court confirming this.
Accordingly, the High Court judge adjourned the case until May 22 and ordered the defendant to appear in court on that day and issue a notice.
