Company Head Ordered to Pay Rs 135 Lakhs Bail for Tax Payment Violations I Sri Lanka Latest News

The accountant of Kaduwala Randenigala Distilleries Company was granted bail of Rs 135 lakhs by Colombo’s additional magistrate, Mr. Bandara Ilesinghe. Sri Lanka Latest News

When the Inland Revenue Commissioner’s complaint regarding the company’s non-payment of taxes owed to the government was brought before the magistrate, the following order was issued. The accountant, W. Roshan, is implicated in this case.

The lawsuit pertains to the non-payment of 1,358,773,144.00 rupees in income tax, VAT, and land development tax between 2012 and 2015.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed on behalf of the company that a writ petition had been filed before the Court of Appeal concerning the tax payment issue.
