Missing Elephant Sumedha Spotted in Minneriya After Three Months, Appears Healthy Despite Injury
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Sumedha, the elephant that went missing following an accident in the Maradankadawala area last March, has been sighted again after nearly three months. A visitor to Minneriya National Park captured footage of the elephant on a mobile phone as she was seen wandering near the Padupola pier.

According to wildlife officials, Sumedha appears to be in good health despite having lost one of her tusks due to the earlier accident.

It is reported that Sumedha has now made her home in the Polonnaruwa District, frequently roaming between Minneriya and Kaudulla National Parks.
