The members of the Professional three wheeler Workers Association staged a protest in Piliyandala town demanding 30 liters of fuel per week. They protested to the government saying that the 5 liters of fuel given to them per week is not enough at all and it is only enough for one day.

Devananda Suraweera, President of the Professional Association, who commented on this, said, “This Ranil Rajapaksa government has failed all the people involved in the three-wheel industry, giving us five liters of fuel per week by punching the QR code is not enough at all. All our children and families eat and drink from this.

Tricycle drivers make a great contribution to transportation in the development process of this country. We would like to run the first kilometer at 100 rupees. We would like to run the second kilometer at 90 rupees. There is no problem. We will carry forward the action that started in the city of Piliyandala from today until this government goes home in every city of the whole country.”
