Anunayaka Kappetiyagoda Sirivimala Nahima of Gatambe Rajovanaramadhika Sri Lanka Ramagna Maha Nikaya says that the President should focus on appointing an officer who is acceptable to the country and the people, who is free from accusations. Sri Lanka Latest News

The police, who maintain law and order in the country, are currently showing an anarchic situation and it is a bad precedent, Anunuhahimi points out.

Anunahimio points out that various accusations have been made against the police in the past and what the police need is a prestigious present.

Because of this, no matter what pressure comes, an officer who has no accusations and is acceptable to the people should be appointed to the post of Inspector General of Police. Officers should not be appointed to this high position just based on popularity. Without it, leaving this position vacant will set a bad precedent.

Anunayake Thero says that the President’s immediate attention should be paid to this matter.
