The All Ceylon Poultry and Egg Businessmen’s Association says that the price of an egg and the price of chicken will rise to an extent that people cannot bear.
Its chairman Ajith Gunasekara said that the price of a kilo of chicken meat may exceed the limit of Rs. 1500.
He also mentioned that the price of an egg can go up to Rs. 70.
He also mentioned that this situation is aggravated due to a severe shortage of poultry food.
Currently, the price of an egg is between Rs. 55 and 60, and a kilo of chicken is priced at Rs. 1300 reported by media.
