Lawlessness abounds! Shouldn’t we be ashamed of ourselves

Colombo Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith said, those identified as the perpetrators of the Easter Sunday terror attack are still involved in political activities and hold positions in the police. The archbishops who stated currently there is no law and no room for law in the country as well, as lawlessness predominant, he noted that the country should be ashamed in front of the world in this regard.

According to the cardinal, the country claim about the powerful legal system it possesses , but despite the count less requests made to conduct an independent investigation into the Easter Sunday attack and prosecute those found guilty, the country’s law did nothing.

The Archbishop of Colombo, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, made these remarks while attending the Mangala Maha Divya Puja Yaga, which was held today (31) to commemorate the Church of Saint Santiago the Great’s 150th anniversary.

On the bomb incident in Borella All Saints’ Church on January 11, he said nothing had happened regarding the culprit other than remanding couple of people associated with the church for few months, but the Colombo Archbishop stated that the bomb was not brought by them, but by security forces, and that no investigation had been conducted as of today.

The archbishops stated that the country has fallen into an abyss and been destroyed as a result of people greedy for power and wealth. People suffer because of this and thy have placed in a miserable position and believe they suffer due to their own stupidity.

Despite the fact that the country is called Dharmadwipa, the cardinals said that things what happen in the Dharmadeepa can be see. He recalled the killing of 269 people on Easter Sunday in 2019 has yet to be completed, and this demonstrates the power of the powerful.
