The National Child Protection Authority has reported the facts to the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today (19) that an investigation has started regarding a group of officers of the Matthegoda Police regarding the arrest and cruelty of a minor girl. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
The National Child Protection Authority submitted the facts to the court that an 11-year-old minor girl was arrested in connection with an incident of theft of gold worth more than 05 lakh rupees, and she reported the facts to the Horana Magistrate’s Court as a false complaint without properly investigating the facts.
The victim girl had gone to her relative aunt’s house in Mattegoda on February 23, where the owner of the house had complained to the police about an incident of theft of gold articles from that house, and accordingly, the police had arrested a husband and wife couple from a neighboring house along with the minor girl in question. The security authority has reported the matter to the court.
