Being worried and selfish government agreed with IMF for their conditions. As we can see the destruction that has happened to the country in a situation where we have agreed to these  conditions, we call on all the 225 members of the Parliament, regardless of party colour, religion, caste, to reveal all the facts and issues to the opposition and to protest against the restructuring of the domestic debt with one voice. The opposition leader said that if there is, the International Monetary Fund can have a clear effect and save the deposits of everyone including the pensioners, and will give full support as an opposition for that. Sri Lanka Latest News

Opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa said this today (19) when the executive committee of the opposition unity met in Parliament.

Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, said that he is ready to secure the values of the deposits of the people of this country, but he is not ready to wave his hands to what the government says. said.

Also, as an opposition, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya repeatedly asked the then Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa to table the data and documents related to the agreement the government made with the International Monetary Fund, but he did not give it. The opposition leader said that the agreement to be made could have been strengthened and progressively implemented on the part of the people, but that did not happen and the data was hidden from the country and the parliament.

Although the Samagi Jana Balawegaya approves going to the International Monetary Fund and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya also believes that these agreements can be implemented through the restructuring of foreign debt, but the President has said that domestic debt restructuring will not be carried out by the Governor of the Central Bank and the Minister of State for Finance. The opposition leader added that it is surprising to say that it will be now done.

The opposition leader said that the trust in the government has been damaged by saying one thing at a time and another thing at another time and contradicting each other. He further said that although many countries in the world can go to the International Monetary Fund’s agreements without restructuring their domestic debt, Sri Lanka should do the same. The opposition leader said that there is something hidden between them.
