The Indian foreign minister requested provincial council elections, but Prasanna said they would also hold regional council elections! They said “no money” before!

Mr. Prasanna Ranatunga, Minister of Urban Development and Housing, said that nominations were made for the election not to postpone the election but to hold the election.

The minister said that it is expected to hold the provincial council election after this local government election.

The minister said this today (20) while attending the presentation of nominations for Gampaha district from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna for the upcoming local government elections.

The number of local government bodies in Gampaha district is 19. For all that, nominations were handed over at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Gampaha District Office. –
