Dr. Haritha Aluthge, Secretary of the Government Medical Officers Association, says that in the discussion held this afternoon between the Union of Professionals and the Government, no adequate solution was found to make a decision to stop the trade union action.

He said this while speaking to the media after the discussion.

He added that positive responses were received regarding the alternative proposals that had been presented earlier to increase the state’s income.

Dr. Haritha Aluthge added that the officials who attended the discussion gave a promise to the professionals that they will submit an analytical report on the discussion held today to the President tomorrow (14) morning and then the President will give a political answer in this regard tomorrow.

Officials of the Ministry of Finance including the President’s Secretary, the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, and the President’s Senior Economic Adviser have participated in this special discussion held at the Presidential Secretariat this afternoon.
