A stock of modern smartphones that had allegedly been illegally imported into the country was discovered during a raid at a warehouse located on the ground floor of a shopping complex in Kollupitiya.
The operation is currently being carried out by officers of the Anti-Corruption Unit, who have arrested one suspect in connection with the seizure.
During the raid, authorities recovered more than 300 smartphones, including several iPhones. The total value of the seized devices is estimated to exceed Rs. 50 million.
The raid is being conducted under the supervision of Assistant Superintendent of Police Rohan Olugala.
