While Foreign Minister Sabri fly to India to participate in the G-20 summit, Sri Lankan High Commissioner Milinda fly back to Sri Lanka, bypassing Sabri! A big talk in the diplomatic circles!

When Foreign Minister Mr. Ali Sabri left for India to represent Sri Lanka at the G-20 Head of State Summit held in India recently, Sri Lankan High commissioner to India Milind Moragoda’s has visited Sri Lanka. This has created a hot talking point  among the diplomatic circles.

This is considered to be the first time that a Sri Lankan foreign minister participated in a high-level summit in India after Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe assumed the presidency.

There, the general tradition is that if the foreign minister of a country comes to that country, the ambassador or high commissioner representing that country comes to the airport to receive him.

But when Mr. Ali Sabri came to India, Mr. Milind Moragoda, the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in India, was in Sri Lanka.

During an investigation in this regard, it has been learned that a statement made by Foreign Minister Mr. Ali Sabri to an English newspaper a few days ago has caused the anger in  Mr. Milinda Moragoda.

It is not known whether it is for that reason or for some other reason, but it has been seen that this incident has become a topic of great discussion in the diplomatic field.
