It is said that steps have been taken to invite all party representatives representing the government as well as Pohottuwa leader Mahinda Rajapaksa, National Organizer Basil Rajapaksa and General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam to the meeting of the ruling party to be chaired by the President this afternoon.

Last Monday, the first meeting was held here under the chairmanship of the President, but a large number of district leaders did not participate due to the fact that Pohottuwa was not properly invited.

Out of forty Pohottu district leaders, only Prasanna Ranatunga, Ramesh Pathirana, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Tenuka Vidanagamage, Kapila Athukorala were present.

Inuth Prasanna Ranatunga and Ramesh Pathirana are Cabinet Ministers.

Information has now been revealed that this meeting was convened at the request of a government minister and a powerful MP.

Accordingly, with the majority of the district leaders of Pohottua taking steps to boycott the President’s meeting, yesterday, the Prime Minister’s Office again organized the meeting to be held today and took steps to invite all the parties representing the government to it.

It is also learned that at the end of this discussion, the seniors of Pohottuwa have planned to hold a special discussion with the President separately.
