SLIMFA Event – Masterclass on AI Media

Sri Lanka –India Media Friendship Association(SLIMFA), Colombo   was established in May 2024, under the patronage of High Commissioner India to Sri Lanka, with the aim of advancing media friendship and collaboration between India and Sri Lanka.  SLIMFA includes members from all major media houses in Sri Lanka, encompassing English, Sinhala and Tamil Media across electronic, print, digital and social media platforms.

Following the success of several significant media focused in the past year, SLIMFA is now organizing ‘Masterclass on AI Media” on Friday November 21, 2025 from 1.30 pm – 6.00 pm at Taj Samudra Colombo.

The Masterclasswill focus on AI-applications in the media industry and will include in depth practical sessions.  Experts from India led by Mr. Shailesh Shekhar, Chief Synergy Officer – India Today Network will conduct the Masterclass.

The Masterclass is divided into two sessions. The first session, “AI Trends in Global Media / Case Studies”, will focus on How AI is reshaping media worldwide, Opportunities for content creation, personalization, and audience engagement, and Case studies from India Today & global media. The second session “Applied AI in Media – Hands-on Demonstration” will focus on the practical aspects.

It will provide comprehensive sessions suitable for beginners and as well as professionals alike. This will be a half day, in-person workshop focusing on the use of AI in print, electronic, broadcast, and digital media platforms.

The seats for the workshop will be allocated on first come first served basis since only limited seats are available.
