Mr. Rehan Jayawickrama, the former mayor of Weligama, represented the Samagi Jana Balawega to challenge the draft of the Prevention of Terrorism Bill proposed by the government in the Supreme Court today (10).
This petition has been submitted with the expectation of seeking the Supreme Court’s help in this regard as the Anti-Terrorism Bill violates the Constitution. The filing of this petition was done by the legal advisor Mr. Thermaraja Thermaraj and in this regard, the legal secretary of Samagi Jana Balavega, President’s Advocate Farman Kasim and Advocate Hejas Hizbullah are appearing in the court.
