Sajith Premadasa Urges Full Use of GSP+ in Talks with EU Ambassador Amid US Tariffs on Sri Lanka

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa recently held discussions with the European Union Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Carmen Moreno, focusing on the Generalised Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+).

In a statement shared via the social media platform X, MP Premadasa stated that the talks centered on maximizing the benefits of the GSP+ scheme, particularly in light of the reciprocal tariffs recently imposed on Sri Lanka by the United States Government.

Emphasizing the need for strategic international engagement, MP Premadasa underscored the importance of collaborating with global partners such as the EU to expand Sri Lanka’s export opportunities.
