The Supreme Court has rejected the bail application of Immigration and Emigration Controller Harsha Ilukpitiya, who is currently remanded on charges of contempt of court. Sri Lanka Latest News
Ilukpitiya was remanded after allegedly failing to comply with an interim injunction issued by the court. The injunction required the reinstatement of the previous visa issuance system, following a court order that temporarily halted the implementation of a Cabinet decision made by the former government. That decision had sought to transfer the electronic visa (e-visa) issuance process to two private companies.
