Ranil’s all-party government formation flops
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

It is reported that even though President Ranil Wickremesinghe held talks with several political parties regarding the formation of an all-party government, all of them have failed so far.

It is known that this has been caused by the fact that even though an all-party government has been formed, a proper program has not yet been presented by the government. Last week, the president held a discussion with Samagi Jana Balawega leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa and party secretary general Mr. Ranjith Maddumabandara in this regard, where the leaders of the party also pointed out that it is possible to support the government from the opposition through the parliamentary committee system without taking government ministers.

Accordingly, aside from the program of adding parties to the government, an operation to bring MPs from various parties to the government and give them ministerial positions has been going on for the past few weeks. But it is known that the unwillingness of the MPs has been expressed.
