The New People’s Front held a demonstration today (29) in front of the head office of Pelawatta Janatha Vimukti Peramuna in protest of the statement made by JVP representative Nalin Hevage in a press conference held on a TV channel that the people who were killed during the 88-89 terror season were rapists, thieves and thieves. Sri Lanka Latest News

The protestors who spoke here saw how the common people were shot and killed in front of our eyes during the 88/89 terror. Social workers, people who did good work in society were killed. Why are the people who destroyed all our things in the past trying to come back here, the JVP who killed the country’s academics, journalists and leaders are struggling to take power in the country. Even now JVP is hating the people, this is an insult to the dead people. JVP still hates dead people. We are telling the people of the country not to take measures to send democracy into the abyss.’
