President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has announced that the budget scheduled for February 2025 will prioritize increasing the salaries of government employees.

He made this statement during the first general election rally of the National People’s Force, held today (19th) in Tangalle.

“We have proven that nothing is beyond reach for determined individuals. Our initial challenge was achieving economic stability. In a short time, we have built a dependable economy through successful negotiations with international organizations that benefit the country. We will present an interim framework in December, followed by the full budget in February or March. This budget will focus on raising the salaries of government employees and providing increased allowances for school children. Additionally, we are committed to increasing the financial support for low-income families and citizens with disabilities in the upcoming budget,” the President stated.
