It is reported that the MPs from Pohottuwe who participated in the emergency group meeting of the ruling party which started this morning, have expressed their opposition to the 22nd amendment.
Nearly 60 Pohottu MPs have participated in this meeting.
Also, Professor Ashu Marasinghe has participated as a special representative of the President.
Accordingly, Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa has informed Mr. Ashu Marasinghe to inform the President of the MPs’ opposition to the 22nd Amendment.
Here, Mr. Marasinghe has said that the President is still staying on the upper floor of the Parliament.
If so, Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa has informed to inform the President to come to the group meeting immediately.
However, as we revealed earlier, Justice Minister Wijayadasa Rajapaksa did not participate.
