Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya on Thursday revisited her alma mater, the Hindu College of Delhi University, rekindling memories of her student days at the prestigious institution where she read Sociology between 1991 and 1994.

The visit formed part of her maiden official trip to India from October 16–18 since assuming office. The atmosphere on campus was celebratory, with banners and posters lining corridors to welcome the distinguished alumna.

Upon her arrival, Principal Anju Srivastava received the Prime Minister, who was greeted enthusiastically by students gathered along the corridors of the main building.

Before attending a ceremonial event at the Sanganeria Auditorium, Dr. Amarasuriya met with faculty members, students of the Sociology Department, and members of the college parliament. Faculty, students, and fellow alumni expressed pride and delight at welcoming back one of the college’s most notable graduates.
