Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya returned to her alma mater, Hindu College, Delhi University, revisiting Classroom 27, where she once studied sociology between 1991 and 1994. The visit marked a deeply symbolic homecoming, as the college announced the naming of its Socio-Ethnology Laboratory after her, honouring her academic journey and contributions to social research.
During the ceremony, Amarasuriya interacted with students and faculty, toured the familiar campus spaces, and reflected on how her years at Hindu College shaped her intellectual and political path. The moment celebrated not only her personal journey from student to Prime Minister but also the enduring academic ties between India and Sri Lanka.
