Opposition Leader Strongly Condemns President’s Criticism of Supreme Court as ‘Judicial Cannibalism’ | Sri Lanka Latest News | VIDEO | Sri Lanka Latest News

The opposition leader said that although the establishment of gender equality is not a problem, it is dangerous to violate the constitution challenge the checks and balances system by the executive and subject the decisions given by the courts to a selection committee. Sri Lanka Latest News

Even if the provision of gender equality is supported, the conclusion given by the Supreme Court cannot be challenged and the inherent powers of the 3 pillars in the democratic system and the protection and balancing of each pillar among the other pillars are done in the democratic system as judicial cannibalism in such a situation. The opposition leader said that the statement was serious.

Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, said in Parliament today that he is not talking about the provisions of the Gender Equality Act and cannot agree with the President calling it judicial cannibalism.
