On Thursday (8) night, one person was killed and four others were seriously injured in a brawl between two groups at the Laugfs Filling Station in Magalle, Galle.
SSP Nihal Thalduwa, a police spokesperson, told News 1st that the injured were taken to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
The deceased was a 25-year-old Engineering student at the University of Moratuwa and a Habaraduwa resident.
It was reported that a man attempted to enter the fuel queue through a vacant lot opposite his friend’s store.
A group in the fuel line enraged by the incident had expressed their displeasure, and a heated exchange had resulted in a brawl.
