Reliable sources confirm that a group of MPs from Pohottuwa, led by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, have decided to abstain from voting in the vote related to the International Monetary Fund agreement to be held next Friday.
The sources indicate that in addition to the former president, a group of people including the general secretary of Pohottuwa Mr. Sagara Kariyawasam are also of this opinion.
It has been learned that the group including the former president has taken this decision based on a number of adverse conditions for the country, including the conditions for the sale of government institutions in the agreement.
