Among the countries of the world in 2002, Sri Lanka was ranked 52nd, and by 2020 it rose to 94th and by 2022 it rose to 101st, said Mr. Wasantha Athukorala, Senior Professor of Economics and Statistical Studies Department of Peradeniya University to ‘Mawrata’.
According to this index, in 2023, Sri Lanka was in the 115th place.
Thus, Sri Lanka has been ranked 115th out of 180 countries in the world according to the Corruption Perceptions Index. This shows that the level of corruption in Sri Lanka has reached.
According to this report, countries like India, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and China show a better situation than Sri Lanka.
