Last month,10 minor girls reported being pregnant! 2000 underage mothers reported in the past 11 months! A serious social and legal problem! I Sri Lanka Latest News

According to the complaints received by the authorities, the National Child Protection Authority has revealed that both female and male children are more likely to be sexually abused. Sri Lanka Latest News

Senior Lecturer Udaya Kumara Amarasinghe, Chairman of the National Child Protection Authority, said this while speaking to the media.

In the meantime, Mr. Udaya Kumara Amarasinghe, who spoke further, mentioned that underage girls becoming mothers has become a serious social and legal problem.

According to police reports last November, 10 minor girls have become pregnant.

Senior Lecturer Udaya Kumara Amarasinghe, the Chairman of the National Child Protection Authority, has further disclosed that 2000 child mothers have been reported in the past year.

He points out that in order to save children from this unfortunate situation, they should be given good knowledge about sexual abuse and how to prevent it.
