It was reliably understood Minister Kanchana Wijesekara has faced with a problem whether to hold the rally in Matara under the chairmanship of the President or not which is organized by him to be held on June 16th. Sri Lanka Latest News

The reason for that is that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to make a special statement regarding the presidential election and the candidate in Pohottuwa on the following day, the 17th.

Mr Kanchana Wijesekera had organized a massive rally in Matara on the 16th and it was planned to make the official announcement that Mr Ranil Wickramasinghe would contest the presidential election on that day.

It has been learned that the minister is working to carry out its organizational activities at a high level these days.

However, it is reported that there has been some hesitation in holding the Matara rally against the background that Pohottuwa plans to issue an official announcement regarding the presidential candidate the next day.
