The biopic, named as “800” in a tribute to Murali’s 800 Test wickets. The 70% shooting of the film has already been completed in Sri Lanka. More shooting will be done in India, England and Australia.
Initially Vijay Sethupathi was finalized to play Murali’s role but the idea was dropped after political leaders and several senior film leaders had objected to this movie
