Concerns have arisen over delays in issuing e-passports, with questions surfacing about the involvement of Jith Warnakulasuriya, a close associate of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, and his company ‘Just in Time Technologies.’ The firm had secured the tender to supply e-passports but failed to deliver them on time, resulting in long queues and people losing access to their passports.
Vijith Herath pointed out that despite these delays, the same company continued to issue traditional passports, raising further concerns about the handling of the tender process.
