In a significant move, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has five state ministers from their positions with immediate effect. The decision, announced by the Presidential Media Division, follows the removal of four ministers earlier, indicating an ongoing restructuring within the government.

Among those dismissed is Geeta Kumarasinghe, alongside Shashindra Rajapakse, Amit Thenuka Vidanagamage, Prasanna Ranaweera, and D.V. Chanaka. The dismissals were carried out under the authority granted by Article 47 (3)(a) of the Constitution.

This development reflects the President’s efforts to make changes in his administration as the country faces continued challenges.
