Popular actor Hemal Ranasinghe was arrested by police in connection with an alleged assault.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on January 8, 2026, at Havelock City. Ranasinghe had reportedly been summoned by police on multiple occasions regarding the complaint but failed to appear.
This morning, the actor surrendered to the Wellawatte Police, after which he was taken into custody.
Police confirmed that Ranasinghe is scheduled to be produced before the Mount Lavinia Court.
