Although it should be done in an optimal and enlightened manner in the legislation in the legislature, such has not happened in the bill related to the security of online systems and the ministers have used the bill to cover personal character assassinations and personal conflicts and the aspirations of 220 lakh people are not being fulfilled, said the opposition leader. Sri Lanka Latest News

Mr Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, said that if the laws are made to achieve the personal ambition of the 225 people in the parliament, instead of making laws based on the common aspirations of 220 lakh people, it will cause a problem regarding the quality of the parliament in this country.

Mr Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, said this while expressing his views during the debate related to the bill related to the security of online systems in Parliament today (24).

The opposition leader further said that the Parliament’s Sectoral Monitoring Committee has not fulfilled its duty properly in this legislation. The opposition leader said that although it is called the media youth heritage and the modern citizen, it can be called a committee that passed a resolution that takes the country to the Stone Age, which is not a heritage that removes the rights of the youth that spoils the media.

The opposition leader emphasized that this bill has been presented to destroy the freedom of speech, freedom of expression and the democratic rights of the people of the country this year when the general election is being held.
