Despite the strong opposition of Sajith-GL-Anura-Sumanthiran-Gajendran-Vimal, the government decided to bring the online bill today! Sri Lanka Latest News

The Security of Online Systems Bill (Online Act) was passed by Parliament today (24) with 46 votes in favour of amendments.

There were 108 votes in favour and 46 against the bill. Members of the ruling party voted in favour of the legislation.

MPs from Sauga Jana Balawega, Jatiya Jana Balawega, the Tamil National Alliance, and the Freedom Janata Sabha voted against the bill.

MP Roshan Ranasinghe voted against the bill. Members Ali Sabri Rahim, Vadivel Suresh, and W DJ Senaviratne voted for the bill.
