Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has filed a petition before the Court of Appeal seeking an order to prevent his arrest under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday terror attacks.
The petition, which was filed through lawyer Sanath Wijewardene, names the Inspector General of Police, the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Shani Abeysekara, and CID Officer-in-Charge Madhava Gunawardena as respondents.
