According to airport sources, former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa left the island at midnight yesterday.
Further, presidential staff sources say that the former president has left the island for a 10-day personal visit to Myanmar.
It is said that it is being done as per the invitation of several social activist organizations in Myanmar and former President’s wife Ayoma Rajapakse and private secretary Sugishwara Bandara have also joined for this visit.
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Myanmar is attorney at law J.M. Janaka Priyantha Bandara. He is the brother of the former President’s private secretary, Sugishwara Bandara.
