Former Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Pradeshiya Sabha member, Sampath Manamperi, has been arrested in the Middeniya area, Sri Lanka Latest News reports.
The arrest is linked to the discovery of 50,000 kilograms of chemicals suspected to be used in the production of the drug commonly known as ‘ice’.
Meanwhile, the SLPP, also known as Pohottuwa, has announced that Manamperi’s party membership has been cancelled following the incident.
