As per the notification, the excise duty will be amended across several categories of alcoholic beverages. Consequently, the price of alcohol is expected to increase by approximately 6 percent.
Additionally, the prices of cigarettes have been revised, effective from today (11).
Under the new pricing structure, the cost of cigarettes in four categories has been raised. CAPSTAN and John Player cigarettes now cost Rs. 5 more, while Dunhill and Gold Leaf cigarettes have seen an increase of Rs. 10.
