Savithra de Silva, brother of Sri Lankan cricketer Dhananjaya de Silva, was attacked with a sharp weapon last night.

According to police, the incident occurred around 7:30 PM. The assault was reportedly carried out by Indika Suranga Zoysa, also known as Ratmalane Sudda, a figure allegedly linked to the underworld, along with several accomplices.

Savithra, who sustained injuries in the attack, was admitted to Lunawa Hospital in Moratuwa. Hospital sources confirmed that his condition is not critical.

The Mount Lavinia Police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.

This incident comes years after their father, Ranjan de Silva, a municipal councilor of the Dehiwala Mount Lavinia Podujana Peramuna, was fatally shot in 2018.
