Details of an alleged conspiracy to defeat Sajith Premadasa in the last presidential election and elevate Anura Kumara Dissanayake to power were recently disclosed in Parliament by former Minister Chamara Sampath Dassanayake.
During his address, he stated that if Ranil Wickremesinghe’s team had not secured 2.2 million votes, Sajith Premadasa would have been in government, forcing everyone, including Malimawa, to remain in the opposition.
