Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath has stated that an increase in electricity tariffs is inevitable. He emphasized that the proposed price hike is necessary to offset the ongoing financial losses incurred by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
According to the Minister, the adjustment is essential to ensure the sustainability of the electricity sector, as the CEB continues to operate at a deficit.
