Yesterday (11) the Computer Crime Division of the Criminal Investigation Department reported to Colombo Chief Magistrate Mr. Prasanna Alwis that they are conducting an investigation regarding the dissemination of nude photos of a veteran actress’s daughter and her boyfriend on the WhatsApp social media network. A scene where the actress’ daughter was with her boyfriend was recorded on her phone, and the complainant has complained to the Computer Division of the Criminal Investigation Department that a friend may have spread the scene through social media.
The Criminal Investigation Department had reported the facts to the court that they are conducting an investigation into the relevant complaint and are working to arrest the suspects, and that the investigation is complicated as this scene has been circulated online.
After considering the relevant matters, the Magistrate ordered the Criminal Investigation Department to conduct investigations and arrest the suspects before the court.
