According to the hospital sources, the ten-year-old school student who was injured in the accident, who is studying in the 4th year of the school, has injuries on his leg, two hands and several parts of his body and his condition is normal.

The parents of the school say that a forty-foot-long unprotected wall of a house belonging to a famous singer near Maharagama Wijerama Junction has collapsed.

The parents of the school allege that the accident occurred due to the construction of this wall, which is about fifteen feet high, without concrete beams or lintels, and that this accident occurred due to the fact that the residents of the school did not respond well to this wall, which is about forty years old, because it is dangerous, despite being informed on several occasions to remove it.

The toilet system used by the students and the toilet system used by the teaching staff have been completely destroyed in the accident.

At the time of the accident, three students were using the toilet and suddenly the fifteen feet high wall fell on the body of the student.

After the accident, the teaching staff and the parents rushed the child to the Kalubowila hospital for treatment and it is said that his condition is normal.

Maharagama President College Principal Mr. Sarath Adhikari says that if this accident had happened during the break time, it would have been a bigger accident.

He further said that the Ministry of Education has informed the higher authorities of the Ministry in this regard and further investigations are to be conducted.

After the incident, government officials including Maharagama Divisional Secretary Mrs. Dilrukshi Walpola were seen coming to the school for an on-site inspection.
