In Sri Lanka, which is experiencing an economic crisis, Indian media has reported that women are facing significant difficulties and are turning to sex work for a living.

According to the organisation, prostitution in Sri Lanka has increased by 30% in the last month.

According to the Indian news agency ANI, 22 million people in Sri Lanka are suffering from extreme hardship and poverty as a result of the country’s unprecedented economic crisis.

They stated that many Sri Lankans have found it difficult to maintain daily activities at home due to the daily struggle to obtain food and essentials, and that the majority of women have lost their jobs in the garment industry.

In light of this perilous situation, temporary brothels have sprouted up, and women are increasingly becoming sex workers.

According to the related news service, as a result of the economic crisis, women have been tempted to earn money as sex workers by working in spas and wellness centres.
