The Department of Examinations has announced an additional postponement of the 2024 Advanced Level Examination by three days, citing the ongoing impact of adverse weather conditions.

Commissioner General of Examinations, Mr. Amit Jayasundara, revealed during a media briefing that the examination will now resume on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Consequently, no exams will be conducted on November 30, December 2, and December 3.

This follows an earlier decision to suspend the examination on November 27, 28, and 29, in response to the severe weather affecting various regions of the country.

Although the situation is gradually improving, Mr. Jayasundara emphasized that the extended postponement aims to support students who have been impacted by the adverse conditions. The decision underscores the Department’s commitment to ensuring fairness and equal opportunity for all candidates.
